There are three separate grants available. Receive funding to increase your average daily participation (ADP) by piloting or expanding alternative breakfast programs by applying for a Breakfast grant.

Need funding to increase physical activity opportunities, improve your school garden or improve nutrition education? Apply for a Game On grant.

Need funding to increase parent engagement? Apply for a Parents for Healthy Kids grant

Breakfast Grants
Nearly 250 schools will receive grant awards of $2,000 or $3,000 to support increased breakfast participation with new alternative breakfast programs, including breakfast in the classroom or grab and go. Award amounts will be determined based on a school’s ability to provide breakfast at no charge for all students. To be eligible for the Start Up grant funding, schools must participate in the National School Breakfast Program and have a free and reduced percentage of 40% or greater. Schools previously funded for breakfast efforts will be invited to apply for Sustainability/Expansion grants of $1000.

Review the application and the application guide. Register for our breakfast grant webinar on February 20, 2018.  You will receive a link to view the webinar at your convenience if you are not able to attend the originally scheduled time.

Game-On Grants
Action for Healthy Kids will award schools with Game On grants for physical activity and nutrition initiatives that support schools’ efforts to improve school and student health and become nationally recognized as a health-promoting school.
Grants are for $500 or $1,000. Schools where greater than 50% of students are eligible for free/reduced-price meals may receive priority, but all schools are encouraged to apply.
