Thrive is National PTA’s online learning community designed to help PTA volunteers and leaders build the knowledge and skills they need to be successful. Whether you’re a brand-new PTA leader or an experienced volunteer looking to strengthen your skills, Thrive offers engaging, self-paced courses that you can complete on your own schedule—from your computer, tablet, or phone.
Courses are designed to be flexible and easy to fit into a busy schedule. You can start a course, stop when needed, and return later to continue where you left off. Training covers topics that can help local and state PTA leaders strengthen their organizations, develop leadership skills, grow membership, advocate for children, and better serve their school communities.
Visit National PTA’s Thrive Learning Community and sign in using your National PTA profile. If you do not already have a National PTA profile, you can create one. National PTA recommends using your personal email address rather than a PTA or officer-position email address so your Thrive learning activity stays connected to you even when your PTA role changes.
Once you are signed in, explore the available courses and select the training that best meets your needs. Complete courses at your own pace and return throughout the year as you take on new responsibilities or want to refresh your PTA knowledge.
Regional Training is designed to help PTA leaders feel confident, connected, and prepared to lead their local PTA successfully. Whether you are a new officer or an experienced leader looking for a refresher, these trainings provide valuable information, practical resources, and opportunities to connect with other PTA leaders in your region.
Through a combination of in-person sessions, virtual training, and networking opportunities, PTA officers can learn more about how PTA works, better understand their roles and responsibilities, share ideas, ask questions, and gain practical tools they can use throughout the year. Regional Training also helps leaders stay informed about current West Virginia PTA policies, programs, requirements, resources, and best practices.
West Virginia PTA conducts Regional Training annually during August and September, with both in-person and virtual opportunities offered throughout our regions. Additional training and support may also be offered during the year as needs arise.
Need additional help? One-on-one guidance sessions can also be scheduled to answer questions, work through specific concerns, or provide support tailored to your PTA’s unique needs.
For current Regional Training dates, times, locations, and registration information, visit our main webpage and click on “Announcements.” Be sure to also follow West Virginia PTA on social media for the latest training opportunities and updates.
Whether you’re stepping into a new role or looking for a refresher, West Virginia PTA has created training videos specifically for Presidents, Secretaries, and Treasurers. Each video provides practical guidance on the key responsibilities of the position, important procedures, and helpful tips to give officers the knowledge and tools they need to lead their PTA successfully.
