West Virginia PTA provides training and leadership development opportunities designed to support local PTA leaders at every stage of their journey. Whether you are brand new to PTA or an experienced officer, training opportunities are available to help you build confidence, strengthen your PTA and connect with leaders across the state.

One of the unique benefits of membership is access to personalized support from the West Virginia PTA Board of Managers. Local units may request one-on-one training sessions tailored to their PTA’s specific goals, questions or challenges.

At the beginning of each school year, West Virginia PTA hosts regional trainings throughout the state to help local leaders start the year strong. These sessions include officer training, PTA basics, available programs and resources from state and national PTA, leadership development and opportunities to connect with other PTA leaders through discussion and virtual gatherings.

Each spring, PTA leaders from across West Virginia come together for the annual convention — West Virginia PTA’s signature leadership event. Convention offers members the opportunity to participate in workshops, conduct the business of the association, network with fellow leaders, celebrate achievements at the Reflections Banquet and support the scholarship program. Attendees leave with new ideas, valuable connections and practical tools to bring back to their local PTAs.
